Description

The Bitter Orange (*Citrus aurantium*), also known as Neroli, is an evergreen tree with dark green, glossy leaves and white flowers. Neroli has a refreshing scent, a blend between orange and grapefruit.

The Neroli essential oil is derived from the outer peel of the orange. The aromatic white flowers of the plant are used to produce Neroli essential oil.

The essential oil of Neroli has multiple health benefits. It tones and detoxifies the skin and is particularly suitable for treating acne as well as for the care of mature, dry, and irritated skin.

It is widely used in personal hygiene products for men.

Additionally, it has a particularly beneficial effect on the immune system and can help prevent and relieve symptoms of colds and flu more quickly. It is recommended for the treatment of chronic bronchitis, as it is a natural remedy that does not irritate the kidneys. It acts as a detoxifier for the entire body, especially the digestive system.

It regulates appetite and is especially helpful for cases of indigestion and constipation. Neroli essential oil also has the ability to balance the nervous system. It helps the mind stay alert and increases the ability to focus and concentrate. At the same time, it relieves excess neuromuscular tension and alleviates stress.

Precaution:

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit everyone. However, they should be treated like medicines with caution and care, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and peppermint essential oils) and without the advice of a doctor.
  • During pregnancy, especially in the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By people suffering from hypertension.
  • By people with severe nervous disorders.
  • On infants (children under one year old).

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g., Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, etc.) can cause skin photosensitivity to ultraviolet rays from the sun. In general, we advise avoiding intense sun exposure for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be used diluted in a base (e.g., carrier oil) when applied to the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils directly on the skin.
  • “Vulnerable” age groups (children and people over 60) should use essential oils in reduced ratios.
