Description

Sandblasted gilding with the Fiery Ascension of the Prophet Elias.

An amazing gold print with the Fiery Ascension of the Prophet Elias.

A wonderful silkscreen with the representation of Agioi Anargyroi.

Saints Cosmas and Damianos came from Asia and were brothers. When their mother became a widow, she devoted all her efforts to the Christian upbringing of her two children. The two brothers were very intelligent, studied and excelled in several sciences, but indulged in the practice of medicine. They cured people’s diseases, especially those of the poor, without taking any money, which is why they were called Anargyroi. Many patients who were healed wanted to thank them, but they did not accept thanks and replied that “glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and power belong to our God forever and ever.”

The Church commemorates them on November 1. Apolytikio: “Saints Anargyroi and miraculous workers, visit our sicknesses, receive freely, give us free.”

The monk who  created this excellent silkscreen printing used as a basis naturally aged wood, which comes from the Garden of the Virgin Mary itself. It is wood, which emerged after the restoration of a cell, which was processed and preserved with techniques of the monks of Mount Athos.

Gold Sandblasting: Features

In the icon with the representation of Jesus Christ, the hagiographer monk used the technique of gold printing, creating a work of unique beauty.
Gold printing is a type of thermotype technique. Thermography is the name of the method by which very thin metallic gold foil is placed on surfaces such as wood, leather, cardboard, plastic by pressing a heated embossed plate (cliché) onto our surface. Around the image you also use the sandblasting technique, it is the technical processing by which the corrosion of a part or the whole of a surface is achieved by throwing sand under pressure.
