Description

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint essential oil, with its wonderful and refreshing aroma, is made using a monastic recipe and offers a wide range of beneficial properties. Specifically, it acts as a mild sedative, has strong antioxidant, antibacterial, antimicrobial properties, and soothing qualities. It alleviates severe headaches and positively contributes to cases of mental fatigue, anxiety, and depression, while also aiding memory. As an essential oil, it can be used in various ways, including for fresh breath, scalp stimulation, fungal infections, and skincare.

Peppermint Essential Oil: Properties

Peppermint is a powerful antioxidant, as studies have shown it protects against the formation of cancer cells. It is also used for diarrhea, acts as an antispasmodic, relieves muscle cramps and sprains, reduces nausea and vomiting, and can be used to relieve itching and inflammation. Additionally, it has analgesic, antiseptic, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties, and relieves nasal congestion. It also has strong rejuvenating and invigorating effects that soothe scalp irritation and promote hair growth.

Usage Instructions

In case of a headache, apply a few drops of the oil to your wrist or a cloth and inhale. Peppermint essential oil can be used for gargling in cases of tonsillitis, gingivitis, and inflammation in the nasopharynx. To make a mouthwash with peppermint essential oil, mix 3 or 4 drops in a small amount of distilled water and rinse for 30 to 60 seconds. It can also treat nail infections caused by fungi. Apply the oil to the affected area once or twice daily until healed. Furthermore, you can make your own shampoo by mixing 10 drops of peppermint essential oil, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 10 tablespoons of baking soda, and 170 ml of aloe vera gel into 200 ml of distilled water.

Warning:

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit everyone. However, they should be treated like medicines, with caution and care, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and peppermint oils) and without medical advice.
  • During pregnancy, especially in the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By individuals suffering from hypertension.
  • By individuals with severe nervous disorders.
  • On infants (children under one year of age).

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g., Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, etc.) can cause skin photosensitivity to ultraviolet sunlight. In general, we advise avoiding exposure to intense sunlight for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be diluted in a carrier (e.g., base oil) when coming into contact with the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils directly on the skin.
  • “Sensitive” age groups (children and individuals over 60) should use essential oils in reduced ratios.
