Handmade Cross with Sacred Objects in Luxurious Case – Mount Athos

A unique craftsmanship from Mount Athos, this handmade wall cross stands out with the blessings of the Abbots of Mount Athos that it carries.

The cross features four specially designed compartments around the Crucified Christ, each containing sacred items in sequence: The top compartment holds the Belt of the Virgin Mary, a ribbon blessed on the Holy Belt of the Theotokos. The left compartment is adorned with flowers from all the Athonite Monasteries. The right compartment contains Athonite incense, and the bottom compartment holds soil from the Athonite region, the place where the Most Holy Theotokos has appeared many times!

The symbol of the Cross holds immense power against opposing forces. Before Christ’s crucifixion, the cross was an instrument of evil, used for destruction and death. But after God humbled Himself to be nailed to it and die upon it, the cross was transformed into a weapon against those who had used it. As the Church triumphantly chants: “Lord, You have given us Your Cross as a weapon against the devil; for he quails and trembles, unable to bear the sight of its power, for it raises the dead and abolishes death.” The symbol of the Holy Cross is a miraculous protection for the faithful. There is no sacred act in our Church without the faithful being blessed with the sign of the Cross; no moment of prayer passes without us making the sign of the Cross, and no difficult moment goes by without sanctifying our bodies with the Cross to protect ourselves from the forces of evil.

The Holy Cross replaced all the superstitions and ineffective amulets of the past. Today, the faithful wear it proudly as a powerful and effective “weapon” against evil, but also as a confession of their faith in Jesus Christ.

This unique wall cross is handmade by the monks of Mount Athos.

At the bottom, the words “Άγιον Όρος” (Mount Athos) are inscribed, certifying its origin.
