Properties:

Phytolacca Decandra is a small tree that is often found in Greece. Its name comes from the Greek word plant and the Arabic word lacca, which means color. Its shoots are reddish, its leaves large, oval in shape, its flowers white and its fruits round and dark, like grapes. In the past, in many parts of Greece, these black, juicy fruits colored wine. However, this practice was banned, as the plant in fresh form, is considered highly toxic. Phytolakka contains alkaloid resins, triterpenoid saponins, tannin, phytolacic acid and formic acid.
