Description

Monastic Kourabiedes with Pure Ingredients

The monastic kourabiedes are made with the purest ingredients, following the traditional recipe, by the nuns at the Monastery of St. John the Baptist. With the use of pure ingredients, the result is a box full of fragrant and delicious kourabiedes. They pair excellently with your coffee and all the joyful moments of your life.

The kourabiede is a characteristic sweet widely spread throughout Greece, classified as one of the traditional sweets. Its name comes from the Turkish “Kurabiye,” meaning biscuit or sweet made from flour, butter, and powdered sugar. Refugees from Karvali in Cappadocia brought the traditional kourabiede recipe from Asia Minor.

The kourabiede is closely associated with the festive season of Christmas and is considered, along with melomakarona, one of the holiday sweets. However, it can be enjoyed year-round as it is a delicious treat.

If you store the monastic kourabiedes according to the nuns’ instructions, you will enjoy every piece fresh, even to the last opening. Treat yourself or your loved ones with these monastic kourabiedes from the Holy Monastery of St. John the Baptist during your next visit.

The monastic kourabiedes come in a beautiful and unique packaging that keeps their freshness intact with every opening.
