Thyme Honey – Holy Monastery of Agios Dionysios

Description

Thyme honey is prepared and packaged in the Patriarchal and Stavropegic Holy Monastery of Agios Dionysios on Mount Olympus.

It has full aromas, rich flavor and intense amber color.

In addition, due to the iron it contains, it helps to quickly restore health in cases of anemia, while its high content of choline acts beneficially in people suffering from bowel diseases.

It belongs to flower honey, but in reality it is a separate category of honey due to its intense aromatic and taste characteristics.

Its production amounts to about 10% of the total honey production of Greece while its flowering lasts 30 to 40 days depending on the configuration of the soil and weather conditions.

This monastic product is collected by the beekeepers – monks of the Holy Monastery in the thyme-rich mountains of Olympus, during the months of July and August.

Thyme honey is kept in a cool and dry environment.
