Mount Athos Forest Honey is collected by monks of Mount Athos as a diaconate. It is packaged by them, with passion and great care and is an authentic monastic product. The Mount Athos fathers, respecting the goods that the Lord has offered us and following only natural processing methods, offer us pure forest honey of excellent quality.

Properties:

Forest honey, like all dark-colored honeys, has great nutritional value and high antioxidant activity. It is very rich in trace elements, such as phosphorus, calcium, sulfur, manganese, magnesium, zinc, iron and copper.

Forest honey also has antiseptic properties. It improves heart function and helps treat ulcers and anemia. Thanks to its high content of choline, it helps people suffering from constipation.

The peculiarity that forest honey has lies in the fact that it contains not only the mixture of one nectar and a honeydew but several.

The crystallization of forest honey is usually – due to honeydew – very slow and takes place after many months. However, if it comes much faster, it means that the ratio of flower nectar to honeydew is more.
Liquefy by placing the jar in hot water (40°C) stirring occasionally.

It does not contain preservatives, chemicals, added sugars or dyes.
