An incredible iconographic theme featuring the Theotokos, the Protector of all people, who always prays and intercedes to Jesus Christ and her Only-Begotten Son for the redemption and salvation of humanity. The Theotokos has always been, is, and will continue to be the mediator between Jesus and mankind. She is the one who listens to the prayers, worries, and pain of the faithful, and she is the one who carries them to her Son. This is symbolized in this specific image, with the Theotokos in the Deesis position.
