This particular icon represents the three Persons of the Holy Trinity: the Father as an elderly man with white hair and beard, the Son, depicted seated to His right, and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove hovering between them.

In fact, this type of depiction of the Holy Trinity is believed to be particularly associated with the post-Byzantine period. In this icon, both figures are adorned with sculpted halos in a silver tone, while the canvas is mounted on naturally aged wood from an Athonite cell, giving this unique work of art a special aesthetic quality.
