Description

A special handiwork of an Agiorite monk. The image of the Saint with golden painted sand from the shores of the Athonian State.

Agios Therapos the hieromartyr is a saint of the Orthodox Church. He lived in the 7th or early 8th century, made a missionary tour of Asia Minor and later became bishop of Cyprus.
His remains were transferred to Constantinople, where there is a pilgrimage that exudes myrrh, while the remains of the saint are kept in the Zografou Monastery of Mount Athos, in the Holy Church of Agios Therapontos Zografos in Athens, in his Holy Church in Mytilini, in the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios Lechovos in Florina and in the Church of Agios Therapontos in Kato Toumpa, Thessaloniki, which was built by Asia Minor and is the continuation of the great pilgrimage of the Saint that existed in the suburb of Bournambasi in Smyrna. According to Christian tradition, Saint Therapon performed many miracles, the most important of which was the resurrection of the son of a Jewish woman. There is also a village of the same name in Cyprus.
