Elder Ephraim of Arizona, also known as Elder Ephraim of Philotheou and Archimandrite Ephraim (born Ioannis Moraitis, Volos, June 24, 1928 – Arizona, USA, December 7, 2019), was a Greek hieromonk, missionary, and archimandrite of the Holy Monastery of Philotheou on Mount Athos, and later of the Holy Monastery of St. Anthony (Arizona, USA) under the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He became especially well-known throughout the American continent for his monastic life and missionary work. He revitalized four monasteries on Mount Athos, founded seven women’s monasteries in the rest of Greece, and established seventeen monasteries across Canada and the USA.
