Who is Saint Paisios?
Saint Paisios the Athonite (born Arsenios Eznepidis) became widely known for his life and work. After his passing, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew initiated the process of his canonization, and he was declared a saint of the Orthodox Church by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople on January 13, 2015. The Greek Orthodox Church celebrates his feast day on July 12.

In the later years of his life, he resided in the Panagouda Cell, which he found abandoned. There, he worked tirelessly, welcoming numerous visitors seeking spiritual guidance through his prayers and teachings. At the same time, he maintained an intense ascetic life, resting very little each day. Despite this, he continued to meet and assist his visitors. He also crafted small, stamped icons as handiwork, which he offered to his guests as blessings.
