Description

Silkscreen of Saint Jude Thaddaeus on Naturally Aged Wood

A beautiful image of Saint Jude Thaddaeus on naturally aged wood. The wood’s grain, cracks, protrusions, and other characteristics remain intact, respected by the creator, who faithfully rendered the Byzantine tradition of Mount Athos.

Saint Jude Thaddaeus was a well-educated Jew from Edessa. When he went to Jerusalem for a pilgrimage, he heard the preaching of John the Baptist and, impressed by his angelic life, he was baptized by him.

Later, after hearing the teachings and witnessing the miracles of our Lord Jesus Christ, he became His disciple and followed Him until the saving Passion. After the Lord’s Ascension, he returned to his homeland. There, he healed the leprous local ruler, Abgar, and then baptized him as a Christian. He preached the Gospel, enlightening many with the word of truth and baptizing numerous people. He established many churches in the cities of Syria. In Beirut, he peacefully gave up his spirit.

His feast day is celebrated on August 21st.

Since the image is handmade and the woodwork is done by hand, there may be slight variations in the wood, but not in the depiction.
