Description
Pyrography is an art form that attracts many artists due to the impressive results it can achieve. It is a painting technique that uses two elements of nature: wood and fire. With patience and attention to detail, artists create pyrographic images, giving great care to avoiding mistakes, as they cannot be corrected like with pencil.
Pyrography has also gained significant popularity among iconographers. Many of them, using wood from the Garden of the Virgin (Mount Athos), burn the wood on which they will depict sacred figures.
A unique pyrographic depiction of the Virgin Mary within the Cross is available from “Agioritiki Kleronomia” (Mount Athos Heritage).
The image is available upon request.
