A stunning serigraph of the Virgin in the Deesis posture, on naturally aged wood.

An incredible iconographic theme of the Virgin, the Protector of all people, who always prays and intercedes with Jesus Christ, her Only-Begotten Son, for the redemption and salvation of humanity. The Virgin has always been, is, and will continue to be the mediator between Jesus and mankind; she is the one who listens to the prayers, anxieties, and pain of the faithful and brings them to her Only-Begotten Son.

This is symbolized in this particular icon, with the Theotokos depicted in the Deesis posture. She is shown facing Jesus, interceding and praying for the salvation of humanity, asking for His grace, help, and for them to be freed from sin so they may be redeemed.

The entire composition respects the age of the wood and faithfully conveys the Byzantine tradition of Mount Athos.

Since the icon is handmade and the wood processing is done by hand, there may be small variations in the wood, but not in the depiction itself.
