Description
An impressive icon of Jesus Christ in silkscreen on naturally aged wood.
The original icon is located at the Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai, hence the name “Jesus Christ Sinai.”
This particular image of Christ, with its noticeably slight asymmetry in the eyes that draws the viewer’s attention, is mentally divided into two parts: on one side, where He holds the Gospel, symbolizing His divine nature; and on the other, where His hand is raised in blessing, symbolizing His human nature. The two different aspects are clearly visible through the expression in His eyes and eyebrows when one side of His face is isolated from the other.
