Description

Gold Blasting with Vine

An amazing gold print in which the Vine is depicted.

In it, Christ is presented as a tree trunk and around him are the Twelve Apostles. Six of which are depicted on one side and six on the other, as branches of the tree. Christ is in the center of the icon with both hands open and blessing, while in His arms He holds open the Gospel, in which it is stated: “I am the vine that is true, and my father is a farmer.” Symbolism is particularly important in this iconographic theme where Jesus Christ is presented as a vine, giving life to its branches to bear fruit. In fact, branches can bear fruit only as long as they are united with the trunk and not if they are cut off, as is the case with the faithful of the Church.

Sandblasted Gold Printing: Features

In the icon with the Vine, the hagiographer monk used the technique of gold printing creating a work of unique beauty. Gold-stamping is a kind of hot-stamping technique. Hot-stamping is the method by which very thin metal gold sheet is placed on surfaces such as wood, leather, cardboard, plastic by pressing a heated embossed plate (plate) on our surface. Around the image you also use the technique of sandblasting, it is the technical treatment that achieves the corrosion of part or all of a surface by pouring sand under pressure.
