Serigraph of the Archangel Gabriel on Naturally Aged Wood
A beautiful serigraph of the Archangel Gabriel created on naturally aged wood from the Garden of the Virgin.
In both the Old and New Testaments, numerous interventions and acts of kindness by the Archangel Gabriel are recorded. Specifically, he was the one who revealed to the prophet Daniel the duration of the Israelites’ captivity and that after four hundred ninety-seven years, Christ would come to Earth.
The Archangel Gabriel served in the mystery of God’s incarnate economy from beginning to end. He was the one who brought the news to Zechariah that he would father John the Baptist, and to Joachim and Anna that they would give birth to the Most Holy Theotokos. Gabriel nourished the ever-virgin Mary for twelve years while she lived in the temple, in the Holy of Holies, with heavenly food. He was also the one who brought her the joyful announcement, the Annunciation, that she would give birth to the Son of God.
Our Church celebrates both Archangels Michael and Gabriel on November 8th.
Since the icon is handmade and the wood processing is done by hand, there may be slight variations in the wood, but not in the depiction.
The icon is available by order.
