Prayer Rope – 100 Knots – Mount Athos

Description

Athos prayer rope, 100 knots with a cross and walnut beads. It is woven with synthetic thread and decorated with beads and metal elements.

The prayer rope is not exclusive to monks. According to the command of the Apostle Paul, “pray without ceasing,” anyone can carry a prayer rope in their pocket or another discreet place, so they can pray unnoticed, without drawing the attention of others, at any time of the day.

In the Garden of the Virgin Mary, the Orthodox monastic tradition considers prayer an essential daily practice and communication with God. Whether in solitude or during the sacred services in the Catholicon of the Holy Monastery, the monks engage in prayer with fervor and remarkable results.

The making of the prayer rope is a ministry of the monks on Mount Athos, who, through a variety of monastic products they create, give every believer the opportunity to experience monastic life as the core that nourishes Orthodox Christians worldwide.
