Τότε τον επισκέφτηκε στον ύπνο του ο Αρχάγγελος Γαβριήλ και του έδειξε πώς θα φτιάξει το εργαλείο που θα εξυπηρετούσε τις ανάγκες της προσευχής. Έτσι δημιουργήθηκε το κομποσκοίνι σαν δώρο του Θεού στους ανθρώπους.
