Another study conducted by Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom showed that thyme tincture is highly effective against acne. According to the lead researcher, Dr. Margarita Gomez-Escalada, thyme tincture was found to be more effective against the bacteria that causes acne (Propionibacterium acnes) than benzoyl peroxide, which is the main active ingredient in many over-the-counter acne creams.
