Description

Properties:

Symphytum officinale is a perennial shrub, native to Europe and temperate regions of Asia. It grows mainly in moist soils and usually reaches one meter in height. It has a thick, hairy petiole, elongated leaves, purple or whitish flowers, and fleshy, black root full of juice. It has a strong healing effect when applied to bruises, sprains and fractures.

Symphyte is a plant known since antiquity for its healing properties. The ancient Greek physician and botanist Dioscorides, in his writings, refers to the use of the plant to treat the injuries of Alexander the Great’s army. The official Latin name of the plant “Symphytum” comes from the Greek word symphymo. During the Middle Ages in Europe, this herbal remedy was probably the only known way to treat fractures, sprains, etc.

Comfrey is applied to the skin to reduce inflammation from sprains and broken bones. Its leaves and roots contain allantoin, tannins, rosmarinic acid and other substances that help regenerate cells. Recommended for bruises, sprains, fractures, and osteoarthritis.

CAUTION. This herb contains dangerous substances, the alkaloids pyrrolizidinates, which are very toxic to the liver. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not allow oral consumption for a long time. Also, ointments containing Comfrey should not be applied to areas of the skin that are open and there are wounds, and their use should not be prolonged for more than a month. It is forbidden to use the Symphyte in children, the elderly and women in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not use it also if you have liver disease, alcoholism, cancer or other serious diseases. Consult your doctor first.

What is Tincture:

The tincture is created by soaking herbs in an alcoholic solution (grappa), usually for a period of a few weeks. During this time, the active ingredients of the herbs are dissolved in the alcoholic solution. This process results in the tincture retaining to the fullest all the beneficial properties of the herbs.

Herbal drops are highly concentrated herbal extracts in a natural alcoholic solution. They retain all their active ingredients and are completely natural.
