Description

Ιδιότητες:

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is a perennial shrub native to Europe and temperate regions of Asia. It primarily grows in moist soils and usually reaches about one meter in height. It has a thick, hairy stem, elongated leaves, purple or off-white flowers, and a fleshy, black root full of sap. It has powerful healing properties when applied to bruises, sprains, and fractures. Comfrey is a plant known since ancient times for its medicinal properties. The ancient Greek physician and botanist Dioscorides mentioned the use of the plant for treating injuries among the soldiers of Alexander the Great. The official Latin name of the plant, “Symphytum,” is derived from the Greek word “symphyo,” meaning “to unite.” During the Middle Ages in Europe, this herbal remedy was perhaps the only known method for treating fractures, sprains, and other injuries. Comfrey is applied topically to the skin to reduce inflammation from sprains and broken bones. The leaves and roots contain allantoin, tannins, rosmarinic acid, and other compounds that aid in cell regeneration. It is recommended for bruises, sprains, fractures, and osteoarthritis. CAUTION: This herb contains harmful substances, specifically pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which are very toxic to the liver. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not allow its long-term oral consumption. Additionally, ointments containing Comfrey should not be applied to open skin wounds, and their use should not exceed one month. The use of Comfrey is prohibited for children, the elderly, and pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use it if you have liver disease, alcoholism, cancer, or other serious conditions. Always consult your doctor first.

Τι είναι το Βάμμα:

The tincture is created by steeping herbs in an alcoholic solution (grapa), usually over a period of a few weeks. During this, the active ingredients of the herbs dissolve in the alcoholic solution. This specific process results in the tincture retaining all the beneficial properties of the herbs to the fullest.

Herbal drops are highly concentrated herbal extracts in a natural alcoholic solution. They retain all their active ingredients and are completely natural.
