The Tincture of Elderberry (Sambucus Nigra) contains the same active ingredients as the dried herb Elderberry. In modern herbal medicine, Elderberry is primarily used to treat the flu and its symptoms. Two independent clinical studies published in 2004 showed that consuming Elderberry significantly reduces both the symptoms and recovery time from the flu (both type A and type B).

Elderberry contains the highest amount of potassium nitrate compared to any other herb and is rich in many vitamins (primarily A, B, and C). In the 17th century, it was a popular remedy for clearing phlegm, while in the 18th century in France, Elderberry extract was praised for its ability to whiten the skin and fade freckles. The leaves act as an external emollient and healing agent, and as an internal laxative, expectorant, diuretic, and diaphoretic. When mashed, they are used for bruises, sprains, wounds, and chilblains, usually in the form of a warm compress. For colds and fevers, Elderberry is combined with Peppermint or Yarrow. For the flu, it is combined with Agrimony.

The tincture is created by steeping herbs in an alcoholic solution (grapa), usually over a period of a few weeks. During this, the active ingredients of the herbs dissolve in the alcoholic solution. This specific process results in the tincture retaining all the beneficial properties of the herbs to the fullest.

Herbal drops are highly concentrated herbal extracts in a natural alcoholic solution. They retain all their active ingredients and are completely natural.

Δοσολογία:

15-20 drops in water twice a day for a month. Take a break for ten days and repeat. Shake before use.
