It is characteristic that since Homer’s time, thyme has been a symbol of strength and bravery. The poor in ancient Greece ate a mixture of thyme, honey and vinegar, which was considered a tonic, while the elderly consumed thyme tea for better mental function. Thyme has a wonderful aroma and is considered a natural deodorant, fights headache, while it is an excellent tonic and strengthening.

Thyme properties

Thyme is one of the herbs with the most properties, which is why its use has been known since ancient times. It is considered the best and most natural deodorant, since its aroma is amazing and creates a sense of well-being. However, thyme is also considered an anthelmintic herb, i.e. it is administered to people (after consultation with a doctor) to cleanse the digestive system and especially the intestinal tract from parasites.

At the same time, it is recommended as an antispasmolytic, against colic, while it is astringent, tonic and strengthening. It is also recommended against weakness of the digestive system, against indigestion and gas, is soothing for bronchitis, increases mental clarity and stimulates nerves.

Method of preparation

Pour one to two teaspoons of the dried herb into a cup of boiling water and leave for 10 minutes. Then strain and enjoy this wonderful drink. In fact, if you pour a little thyme into your bath water it will give you energy, while for the elderly it helps relieve the pains of rheumatism.
