Description

Oregano for its Strong Antimicrobial Action

Oregano is one of the most widely used herbs, found in countless cooking recipes, while also offering a range of properties that make it a valuable ally for health. It is renowned for its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and is believed to help combat headaches. Notably, Hippocrates extensively used oregano as an antiseptic.

Oregano Properties
Apart from its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, oregano also has tonic, digestive, antispasmodic, astringent, antiseptic, diuretic, and emmenagogue qualities. Oregano tea can stop diarrhea, relieve bloating and flatulence, and ease rheumatic pains, headaches, and even toothaches.

Moreover, oregano contains vitamin K, which is vital for healthy bone development and maintaining bone density, and it is rich in antioxidants that help protect cells.

Preparation Methods
Add one teaspoon of dried oregano to a cup of boiling water and let it steep for five to ten minutes. Strain it, and your beverage is ready. Additionally, you can prepare a gargling solution by adding 50–60 grams of oregano to a liter of water and following the same steeping process.
