Tonic: In appropriate doses, it acts as a cardiac tonic.

Diuretic: It combats fluid retention.

Calming: It treats tension, anxiety, and insomnia.

Antibiotic: It has an astringent action. In large doses, it acts as an antiscabietic. It is used for chronic ulcers, skin irritations, and wounds.
