Description

The milk thistle is an herb primarily used for its seeds, which are harvested from the flowers in the summer once they have fully dried. Milk thistle seeds contain about 65%-80% silymarin, which is its main active compound.

Properties

1. Υποστηρίζει την υγεία του ήπατος

2. Promotes skin health

3. Reduces cholesterol

4. Helps in the control and prevention of diabetes.

According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, milk thistle may help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Even so, individuals with diabetes should be cautious. It has been discovered that one of the compounds in milk thistle may act in a similar way to some medications traditionally used for diabetes, helping to improve insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar. In fact, the results of a recent review and analysis showed that individuals who took silymarin regularly experienced a significant reduction in fasting blood sugar levels and HbA1c, a measure of blood sugar control.

The consumption of the tea is recommended up to 3 times a day.
