Description
Tarragon for Detoxification and Blood Sugar Regulation
Tarragon is closely associated with cooking, particularly in French cuisine. It contains flavonoids and tannins, which help detoxify the body, while also possessing mild calming properties. Tarragon, or *Artemisia dracunculus*, is a plant native to distant Siberia and Mongolia. It is said to be named after Artemis, the goddess of hunting. However, the French name “Estragon” means “little dragon.” In ancient Greece, it is known that the Greeks would chew on tarragon when they had a toothache, as it causes numbness.
Properties of Tarragon
Tarragon contains iodine, potassium, and vitamins A and C. It is recommended for nausea, hiccups, and insomnia and is a good digestive aid. This herb stimulates the digestive process and helps with bloating and indigestion. Additionally, it relieves toothaches and is also antipyretic.
It is considered particularly effective in treating rheumatism and arthritis. Tarragon is recommended for stimulating kidney function, supports the liver in bile production, aids in its absorption, and helps lower blood sugar. It also calms anxiety and stress.
