Description

Birch, also known as Betula, is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 20-25 meters tall.

The essential oil of Birch is distilled with steam from the melted bark of the plant and has a strong camphor-like smell and a fresh, medicinal aroma, which is due to the rich composition of the oil in salicylic acid and methyl salicylate.

Properties:

The oil of Birch is known for its successful treatment of nasal congestion through inhalation, as well as for relieving muscle pain, arthritis, and rheumatism.

Finally, its antioxidant and detoxifying action is significant, as well as its positive contribution to anti-aging, as it reduces wrinkles and tightens the skin.

Precautions:

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit anyone. However, they should be treated like medicines with caution and care, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and mint essential oils) and without the advice of a doctor.
  • During pregnancy, especially during the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By individuals suffering from hypertension.
  • By individuals with severe nervous disorders.
  • On infants (children under one year old).

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g., Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, etc.) may cause skin photosensitivity to ultraviolet rays from the sun. In general, we recommend avoiding exposure to intense sunlight for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be used diluted in a base (e.g., carrier oil) when applied to the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils on the skin.
  • “Vulnerable” age groups (children and individuals over 60) should use essential oils in reduced proportions.
