Description

Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass Essential Oil is a completely natural product. It is prepared with a monastic recipe to preserve all its valuable ingredients intact. The essential oil of lemongrass is produced by steam distillation of its leaves and has a strong, fresh, and lemony scent.

Lemongrass Essential Oil: Properties

Lemongrass essential oil, like other citrus oils, has strong antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial properties. It is particularly useful for problematic skin with acne and open pores, which require deep cleansing. Due to its disinfecting action, it is often used as a cleaner for household appliances (refrigerators, ovens, kitchen counters, etc.), while leaving a refreshing fragrance.

It is also a good insect repellent, deodorant, muscle relaxant, circulatory system booster, anti-anxiety, and antifungal agent.

Lemongrass is also known as a natural painkiller. It can be used in compresses to relieve muscle pain, migraines, headaches, and toothaches. Its scent has an anti-anxiety effect, relaxes the muscular system, and boosts the mood.

Precautions:

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit anyone. However, they should be treated like medicine with caution, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and mint essential oils) and without medical advice
  • During pregnancy, especially during the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By individuals with high blood pressure.
  • By individuals with serious neurological disorders.
  • On infants (children under one year old).

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g., bergamot, neroli, lemon, etc.) can cause skin photosensitivity when exposed to ultraviolet rays from the sun. In general, we advise avoiding exposure to intense sunlight for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be used diluted in a carrier oil when applied to the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils on the skin.
  • “Vulnerable” age groups (children and individuals over 60) should use essential oils in reduced proportions.
