Turmeric Essential Oil: Properties

Turmeric essential oil is considered an excellent agent for health. It is known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antimalarial, and anti-aging properties.

It is considered a powerful relaxant and enhances the balance of the body. It also has strong antioxidant properties for the skin and protects it from premature aging. Additionally, it has antimicrobial properties and can be used to care for problematic skin. In aromatherapy, it promotes relaxation and helps address anxiety and stress.

Furthermore, it is used for relieving pain caused by various inflammations in the body, joint problems, and muscle aches, for aiding digestion, and for supporting the liver.

Moreover, it is widely used for its strong antiseptic, antimicrobial, and antioxidant action, and is useful in gastrointestinal disorders such as gas, colitis, etc. It is also considered a good antidote and an effective antiparasitic for addressing worms in the intestines.

The strong antioxidant components of the oil make it useful as an ingredient in various anti-aging cosmetic products for addressing wrinkles, skin discoloration, hair growth, acne, etc.

Warning:

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit everyone. However, they should be treated as medicines with caution and care, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and mint essential oils) and without a doctor’s advice.
  • During pregnancy, especially in the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By individuals suffering from hypertension.
  • By individuals with serious neurological disorders.
  • On infants (children up to one year old).

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g. Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, etc.) may cause skin photosensitivity to ultraviolet rays from the sun. In general, we recommend avoiding exposure to intense sunlight for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be used diluted in a carrier oil when applied to the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils directly on the skin.
  • “Vulnerable” age groups (children and individuals over 60) should use essential oils in reduced proportions.
