Cinnamon Essential Oil

Cinnamon essential oil is a completely natural product. It is prepared using a monastic recipe to preserve all its valuable ingredients intact.

Cinnamon Essential Oil: Properties

Cinnamon essential oil – whether from the leaf or the bark – is antiseptic, antimicrobial, and antifungal, combating bacteria and pathogens.

  1. It can improve blood circulation.
  2. It is particularly antibacterial.
  3. It can be used for oral health. Cinnamon has the ability to reduce cavities and dental plaque. However, it should be used very carefully, as cinnamon essential oil is consistently listed as “do not ingest.”
  4. It prevents colds and provides relief from viral symptoms. The warm aroma of cinnamon oil can be a useful aid in opening the throat and nostrils.
  5. It combats diabetes, as it is one of the best spices for controlling uncontrolled blood sugar levels. Adding 1-2 drops of this oil to your regular diet can bring interesting benefits.
  6. It relieves arthritis, stimulating blood flow and reducing inflammation to soothe pain and mobility issues caused by this condition.
  7. It reduces fatigue and is useful for relieving physical and mental fatigue symptoms.
  8. It combats vaginal infections. A small amount of cinnamon essential oil diluted in water when showering can help balance vaginal pH to address infections. Additionally, using it in small amounts reduces the presence of bacteria and fungi. It also controls symptoms such as itching, discharge, and unpleasant odor.

How to Use

Cinnamon essential oil should be used with great care, discreetly and with respect for the body. To avoid irritating the skin, eyes, and lungs, it should not be inhaled directly or applied directly to the skin. It is best to use it in a blend with other essential oils that soothe the skin, such as sweet orange oil, lavender oil, tea tree oil, patchouli oil, and geranium oil.

Cinnamon is also very warming and ideal for muscle pain, so you could add 1 drop to a massage oil.

Precaution:

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit everyone. However, they should be treated like medicines with caution, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and mint essential oils) and without the advice of a doctor.
  • During pregnancy, especially in the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By people who suffer from hypertension.
  • By individuals with severe neurological disorders.
  • On infants (children under one year old).

Essential oils should be used carefully in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g., Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, etc.) can cause skin photosensitivity to ultraviolet rays from the sun. In general, we advise avoiding exposure to strong sunlight for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be used diluted in a base (e.g., carrier oil) when coming into contact with the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils on the skin.
  • “Vulnerable” age groups (children and people over 60) should use essential oils in reduced ratios.
