Description

Calendula Essential Oil

Calendula essential oil is a completely natural product with a particularly pleasant aromatic scent. It is prepared using a monastic recipe to preserve all its valuable components unchanged. Its therapeutic properties have been known for centuries, and it was used both as a medicinal herb and as an ingredient in food, cosmetics, and fabrics.

Calendula Essential Oil: Properties

Calendula essential oil is considered one of the most important herbs for treating skin problems such as inflammation or infection. It is also beneficial for the rapid healing of wounds, due to its antiseptic action. It is soothing, particularly suitable for sensitive or oily skin. It is ideal for irritated skin and for the care of skin diseases such as eczema. It imparts softness and elasticity to the skin, which is why it helps with the treatment of stretch marks.

Warning: If for any reason you are taking sedatives, you should know that calendula can worsen drowsiness.

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit everyone. However, they should be treated like medicine with caution and attention, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and mint essential oils) and without the advice of a doctor.
  • During pregnancy, especially during the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By individuals suffering from hypertension.
  • By individuals with serious nervous disorders.
  • On infants (children up to one year of age).

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g., Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, etc.) can cause skin photosensitivity to ultraviolet rays from the sun. In general, we advise you to avoid exposure to strong sunlight for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be used diluted in a base (e.g., carrier oil) when coming into contact with the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils on the skin.
  • “Vulnerable” age groups (children and individuals over 60) should use essential oils in reduced proportions.
