Description

Geranium Essential Oil

Geranium essential oil is a completely natural product. It is prepared with a monastic recipe to maintain all its valuable ingredients intact.

The essential oil of Geranium comes from the well-known ornamental plant that can be found in most Greek yards. In addition to its decorative use, Geranium also has significant therapeutic properties.

Geranium Essential Oil: Properties

Geranium essential oil is used in aromatherapy to reduce stress. It also has strong astringent, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties. A few drops of essential oil can help treat various dermatological problems such as acne, blemishes, oily skin, wrinkles, wounds, bruises, swellings, and more.

Geranium stimulates blood circulation, the lymphatic system, and the adrenal glands. Cellulite, fluid retention, premature sagging, and health or menstrual problems due to poor circulation can improve with frequent massages by adding a few drops of geranium to the massage oil.

It is also used in shampoo to fight lice. Its scent has insect-repellent properties and, together with Citronella and Garlic, provides a natural way to repel mosquitoes without harmful chemicals.

It is an excellent solution for rough and mature skin that requires intensive softness and hydration. Its astringent and antimicrobial properties deeply cleanse the skin, making it noticeably smoother and shinier.

Uses & Application Tips

  • For stress and tension relief: Add 5 drops of geranium essential oil to a ceramic diffuser for essential oils.
  • For cellulite and fluid retention: Add 6 drops of geranium essential oil to the bathtub.
  • For soft skin: Add 35 drops of geranium essential oil to 100ml of almond oil and use it for a massage. It provides hydration and softness to the skin.
  • For herpes (helps relieve symptoms): Soak a cotton swab with 1 drop of geranium essential oil and apply it to the area 3 times a day.

Warning:

Essential oils are natural, effective, and particularly pleasant to use. Their therapeutic properties can benefit everyone. However, they should be treated like medicine with care and attention, following the recommended dosage.

  • Essential oils should not be used for ingestion (except for oregano, thyme, basil, and peppermint essential oils) and without the advice of a doctor
  • During pregnancy, especially in the first 5 months of gestation.
  • By individuals suffering from hypertension.
  • By individuals with severe nervous disorders.
  • On infants (children under one year old).

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:

  • Some essential oils (e.g., Bergamot, Neroli, Lemon, etc.) can cause skin photosensitivity when exposed to UV rays from the sun. We generally recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
  • Essential oils should be used diluted in a base (e.g., carrier oil) when applied to the skin. We recommend not using undiluted essential oils on the skin.
  • “Vulnerable” age groups (children and people over 60) should use essential oils in reduced proportions.
