Although our country is very rich in oak forests, it is considered a rare variety of honey.

In the peninsula of Mount Athos the main forest trees that offer us their flowers or honey secretions are pine, fir, oak, various flowers,
mixed of various trees we call forest, and chestnut. The bees through the centuries have created a harmonious cooperation with the forest offering excellent honey to us. It is also noteworthy that the forests of Mount Athos are protected by the NATURA 2000 treaty.
