Icon of Christ Pantocrator with Apostles on Naturally Aged Wood
The unique value of the Christ Pantocrator icon stems from its aging process, which was achieved through the use of the wood in the service of the Holy Mountain. Christ is depicted full-length, blessing with His right hand while holding an open scroll in His left. At His feet, two Apostles are seen worshiping the Master. Above Christ, on either side, angels are shown praising the glory of the Lord.

For more than 100 years, this naturally aged wood was part of a cell on Mount Athos that was later renovated. The monks carefully preserved the wood, choosing it for the silkscreen image. The wood’s grain, cracks, and knots remain intact, giving it a distinctive and authentic character. The color composition respects the wood’s age, rendering the Byzantine tradition of Mount Athos in the most faithful manner.

As the icon is handmade and the wood is processed manually, slight variations in the wood may occur; however, the depiction itself remains unchanged.
