Image of the Virgin Mary Eleousa on Naturally Aged Wood
A beautiful serigraph on aged Athonite wood.
The Virgin Mary is depicted in a bust, turned slightly to the left, holding Christ in her arms. He holds a closed scroll in one hand and blesses with the other. The Theotokos gently tilts her head towards her Son, embracing Him tenderly with her left hand. The face of the Theotokos is striking with large almond-shaped eyes, a delicate long nose, and a small, full-lipped mouth.
In “Aghioritic Heritage,” you can find collectible icons created on specially preserved wood from renovated Athonite cells.
Note: As the image is handmade and the wood is hand-treated, small variations in the wood may occur, but not in the depiction.
