Description

Icon of Saint Paisios, Saint Arsenios & Saint Euphemia on Naturally Aged Wood

Saint Paisios the Athonite (born Arsenios Eznepidis) became widely known for his life and works. After his death, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew initiated the process of his canonization, and he was recognized as a saint by the Orthodox Church on January 13, 2015. The Church celebrates his memory on July 12th.

Saint Paisios spent the last years of his life at the Panagouda cell, which he found abandoned. There, he worked diligently, offering spiritual help to the many people who visited him with prayers and teachings. At the same time, he continued his intense ascetic life, resting very little each day, yet still receiving and attempting to help his visitors. He also used to make “stamped” small icons as handicrafts, which he gave to visitors as blessings.

The icon depicts the sanctified image of the Athonite elder together with Saint Arsenios (November 10), with whom he shared a strong spiritual bond, as well as with Saint Euphemia (September 16). Saint Paisios had the special blessing, through his fervent faith and prayer, to receive the visit of Saint Euphemia at his cell. Initially, the saint thought it was a temptation and asked Saint Euphemia to venerate the Holy Trinity. Later, Saint Euphemia sat near Elder Paisios and told him about her life and martyrdom.

Among the many beneficial aspects published about the life, miracles, and teachings of Saint Paisios, this work holds unique grace as it features wood that has lived for many years in the Garden of the Virgin Mary, and with the blessing of the monks, it now carries this grace to the world. It is exclusively available from “Athonite Heritage.”

Since the icon is handmade and the wood is processed by hand, slight variations in the wood may occur, but not in the depiction itself.

The icon is available upon request.
