Icon with the Three Holy Elders on Naturally Aged Wood
There have always been, and will always be, Saints who serve as living examples and role models in the turbulent lives of humans. Saints who inspire with their faith, asceticism, and perseverance.
The three contemporary holy elders of our time—Saint Porphyrios of Kavsokalyvia (December 2), Saint Païsios of Mount Athos (July 12), and Saint James of Chalcedon (November 22)—are shining beacons in the darkness of the difficulties and temptations that man faces daily.
With their deep faith, asceticism, and patience, they earned not only eternity but also a place among the saints of the Orthodox Church. Illuminated elders by the Holy Spirit, with the gift of spiritual discernment, they acted as spiritual oases for the countless people who had the blessing of visiting and conversing with them.
In the earthly Paradise of Mount Athos, where these three modern Holy Elders lived and asceticized, the wood upon which the holy images of these three elders are depicted has existed for many years. The monks, after processing and preserving it with special methods, used it to create this icon.
As the icon is handmade and the wood is treated by hand, there may be small variations in the wood, but not in the depiction.
The icon is available upon order.
