This exquisite image features Saint Paisios the Athonite (July 12, 1994 – July 25, 1924), widely known for his life and teachings. Born as Arsenios Eznepidis in Farasa, Cappadocia, he became a spiritual leader and monastic, eventually being recognized as a saint by the Orthodox Church in January 2015. His feast day is celebrated on July 12, and in 2017, he was declared the patron saint of the military communications division in Greece.

This image is created on naturally aged wood, which bears the visible cracks and marks of time, adding to its unique beauty and value. The wood used in this piece was originally part of a monastic cell on Mount Athos, where it was restored and repurposed as the base for this artwork.
