Virgin Mary Myrtidiotissa is the name of an icon of Virgin Mary, found in Kythira probably in the 14th century. She has the nickname Myrtidiotissa, because according to tradition, she was found by a shepherd in a place full of myrtles. Today, churches, monasteries and generally images depicting the Virgin Mary with myrtle are called by this name. The icon is kept in the Holy Monastery of Myrtidia in Kythira.
