ICXC NIKA – Sandblasting on Naturally Aged Wood – Mount Athos

Description

A special craft by an Athonite monk, made from naturally aged wood sourced from a renovated cell on Mount Athos. The Cross at its center, engraved with the phrase “Jesus Christ Conquers” (Ιησούς Χριστός Νικά), is created using golden-painted sand from the shores of the Athonite State.

The Cross is the supreme symbol for Orthodox Christians, offering protection and blessing. As stated in the Exapostilarion, the Cross is the guardian of the entire world, the beauty of the Church, the strength of kings (leaders), the support of the faithful, the glory of the angels, and the wound of the demons.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, who was crucified on the Cross, sanctified it with His Precious Blood and made it life-giving and life-empowering. It became an invincible weapon against the devil, who shudders and trembles before it.

Orthodox Christians must seal their bodies, their homes, their workplaces, and everything with the sign of the Cross.
