Description

A special handiwork of an Agiorite monk. The image of the Saint with golden painted sand from the shores of the Athonian State.

Saint Euthymios the Great was born in Melitini, Armenia in the year 377 AD. His parents had a child at an old age, whom they dedicated to the ministry of God and named him Euthymios, since with his birth he gave them joy, joy and rejoicing.
In 406 AD, he went to Jerusalem and shut himself up in the cave of Agios Theoktistos, where he practiced strict asceticism, while many monks gathered around him, who elected him their abbot.

Saint Euthymios had received from God the prescient gift and the power of miracle-working. With a few loaves of bread he managed to feed four hundred people, who had visited his cell that same day, while many women with the Saint’s prayers had a child.A sign of his purity and holiness was also the fact that he was able to know who was coming to commune with a clean or defiled conscience.
