Every Christian has a good angel from the moment of their baptism, who stands to their right and advises them in every work that is pleasing to God.

This angel is tender, modest, gentle, teaching the human heart righteousness and the path to goodness. Other Fathers of our Church teach that the essential condition for the guardian angel to remain beside a person is a holy life; otherwise, the angel departs due to evil and sinful deeds. The Guardian Angel secretly directs the person’s steps toward all that is good and, as much as permitted, keeps them away from evil and sin. However, he does not simply stand as the protector of the person’s soul and body, but becomes one in the Holy Spirit with that soul. For this reason, the angel feels pain and anxiety for the soul entrusted to him. This angel comforts in sorrow, helps in pain, suffers with the person, leads them to repentance, and protects them from visible and invisible enemies.

The stunning silkscreen created by the monk on natural wood with embossed designs is one of the main features that make this icon a collectible item. In addition to the beautiful representation of the Guardian Angel, the monk in this case used natural wood from a monastic cell on Mount Athos as the base for this icon.
