Description

Gold Blasting with Saint Patapios

An amazing gold print depicting Saint Patapios.

Saint Patapius was born in Egypt and from a young age he had “a spirit of love and correction” so wisely and wisely to govern himself, avoiding any moral deviation and maintaining chastity. With his behavior he set an example for his fellow human beings and he proved this even more when he grew up.

After distributing his inheritance among the poor, he retired to the wilderness. There he filled his time with prayer, study and charity. To every weary hiker who passed by his cell, he offered rest and hospitality. But seizing the opportunity he discerningly provided him with spiritual instructions and counsel, useful for the salvation of his soul. Thus, Patapius’ fame spread rapidly, and every day many arrived at his cell to hear from his lips beneficial teaching.

After some time, Patapius went to Constantinople. There, wanting to remain unknown, he elected a retreat in Vlachernes. However, Patapios’ humble and clean life made him worthy to perform miracles. So again he became known and died curing the sick. The Church commemorates him on December 8.
