Description

Silkscreen of Saint Patapios on Naturally Aged Wood

A stunning image on naturally aged wood, clearly displaying the cracks and age marks, which enhance its unique value. This image stands out not only for its theme depicting Saint Patapios but also for the silkscreen technique used and the wood selected. The monk who crafted this piece used naturally aged wood from a cell on Mount Athos that was recently restored.

Saint Patapios was born in Egypt and from a young age exhibited a spirit of love and self-discipline, managing to govern his life wisely and avoid moral lapses, maintaining purity. His behavior set an example for those around him, especially as he grew older.

After distributing his inheritance to the poor, he withdrew to the desert, filling his time with prayer, study, and acts of charity. He offered rest and hospitality to every weary traveler passing by his cell, and, seizing the opportunity, provided spiritual guidance and advice for the salvation of their souls. His reputation spread quickly, and many came daily to hear his beneficial teachings.

Later, Saint Patapios moved to Constantinople, choosing a secluded hermitage in the Blachernae area. Despite his desire for anonymity, his humble and pure life enabled him to work miracles. As a result, he became widely known, passing away while healing the sick. The Church commemorates his memory on December 8th.

Since the image is handcrafted and the wood processing is done by hand, there may be slight variations in the wood, but not in the depiction itself.

The image is available upon order.
