Description

Icon of Saint Paisios on Naturally Aged Wood

Saint Paisios of Mount Athos (secular name: Arsenios Eznepidis) became widely known for his life and spiritual work. After his death, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew initiated the process of his canonization, and he was declared a saint of the Orthodox Church by the Ecumenical Patriarchate on January 13, 2015. The Church commemorates him on July 12.

Saint Paisios spent the last years of his life at the Panagouda cell, which he found abandoned. There, he worked tirelessly, welcoming numerous visitors seeking spiritual guidance through his prayers and teachings. Despite his intense ascetic life, which allowed him only minimal rest each day, he continued to receive and help visitors. He also crafted small stamped icons as handiwork, which he offered to visitors as blessings.

Among the many inspiring accounts of the life, miracles, and teachings of Saint Paisios, this work holds unique grace, as it is made from wood that has been part of the Garden of the Virgin Mary (Mount Athos) for many years. With the blessing of the monks, this grace is shared with the world. It is exclusively available through “Athonite Heritage.”

As the icon is handcrafted and the wood is processed manually, slight variations in the wood may occur, but not in the depiction itself.

The icon is available upon request.
