Silk-Screen Print of Saints Anargyri on Naturally Aged Wood – Mount Athos
A magnificent silk-screen print depicting Saints Kosmas and Damian, the Holy Unmercenaries, renowned for their acts of compassion and selflessness. Born in Asia Minor, they were brothers who, after losing their father, were raised by their widowed mother in a Christian household. The brothers excelled in various sciences, especially in medicine, but they dedicated their lives to healing the sick, particularly the poor, without accepting any payment. For this reason, they are honored as Anargyri (the “Unmercenaries”).
The Church celebrates their feast day on November 1st, and their well-known hymn is: “Holy Unmercenaries and Wonderworkers, visit our infirmities. You received freely, give to us freely.”
This stunning image has been created using naturally aged wood from Mount Athos, sourced from a recently restored cell. The wood has been treated and preserved using traditional techniques employed by the monks of Athos, enhancing the authenticity and spiritual connection of the piece.
Please note: As the image is handmade, slight variations in the texture of the wood may occur, though this will not affect the depiction of the saints.
Dimensions: 26 x 36 x 2.5 cm
