Canvas Icon with Panagia Pantanassa
An exact replica of the original icon, artistically created on natural fir wood, depicting Panagia Pantanassa holding the infant Jesus in her arms.
The miraculous icon of the Theotokos Pantanassa is a portable icon from the 17th century and is located at the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi. In religious context, the term “Pantanassa” is one of the many titles of the Theotokos, and the word itself means “Queen of all”, “Lady of the Universe”.
Many miracles are attributed to Panagia Pantanassa, one of which involves a young man who visited the monastery wanting to venerate the icon. However, an invisible force threw him to the ground, and when he regained consciousness, he confessed that he had strayed from the path of God. He repented and saved his soul.
Canvas Icon – Features
In the canvas printing technique, the monk iconographer used a replica of a Byzantine image and artistically created the work with embossed elements. The construction of the icon is entirely hand-crafted with an aging technique. The canvas is impregnated with putty so that the image’s colors remain unchanged over time.
The icon is available upon order.
